My Community: FrostFest

Community members gathered in downtown Lansing to enjoy the brisk, snowy weather at this year’s FrostFest. Ice sculptures, horse-drawn carriage rides and music by Jammin’ DJ’s and 94.1 The Edge filled the streets of Washington Square. Kids were able to enjoy a heated tent with refreshments, activities, and liquid nitrogen and dry ice demonstrations. In the evening, adults could refresh themselves in the Michigan Brewing Company’s beer tent, which featured a “Cold Butt” euchre tournament where players sat on large blocks of ice.

Adado Riverfront Park also had festivities during the day, including trebuchet launches by Impression 5 and snowboarding demos by Modern Skate & Surf. A snow-covered field next to the demos provided an area for children to build snowmen and engage in snowball fights.
